Anthropic dropped the cleanest read we have on AI’s labor market footprint. Most outlets are running with the calm headline no unemployment spike yet. They’re anchoring on the wrong number.

The real story is buried in a new metric called observed exposure: how much of a job is actually being done on Claude in work contexts right now. Computer programmers are at 75%. Data entry keyers at 67%. Customer service reps wired directly into API traffic. And entry-level hiring into exposed jobs has already dropped 14%.

This week, I pulled Anthropic’s report together with research from Microsoft, the ILO, Stanford, and the OECD to map exactly where the openings are.

Inside this article I breakdown:

  1. What “observed exposure” really measures and why it changes the game

  2. Where is the opportunity for founders to build (according to Anthropic’s map)

  3. The top 3 occupations getting peeled apart first

  4. Three cross-cutting plays that span every vertical

Here’s what I’d give to anyone building out their GTM motion for the first time: GTM Atlas.

Curated by Attio, the AI CRM, it’s the ultimate resource for early-stage teams navigating growth from scratch. You’ll get:

  • Systems thinking that scales with you

  • A point of view on your GTM, not borrowed from a playbook

  • Exclusive stories from industry leaders setting the standard

The first installation features entries from Elena Verna (Lovable), Kyle Norton (Owner.com), Roniesha Copeland (Vercel), James Pastan (Framer), and more.

Mapped by operators. Curated by Attio.
