Every Major Anthropic Hire of the Last Year
Anthropic is becoming this
In the last 12 months Anthropic has pulled at least a dozen senior people out of OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Microsoft, xAI, AWS, and the chair of Berkeley CS, and the densest cluster of them all landed on one team: Compute.
Everyone saw the headlines one at a time. Nobody laid the full year of hires side by side to read the pattern.
So we did, one person per section, tracing where each came from and what team they joined, then pulled out the single bet the whole roster is making so you can position ahead of it.
The short version: this is not prestige signaling ahead of an IPO. It is a targeted acquisition of the three inputs to recursive self-improvement (frontier research, raw compute, and the enterprise and government distribution that pays for the compute).
The celebrity researchers are the least revealing hires. The compute and go-to-market operators are the tell.
