2 days ago, Sam Altman shared his vision for the future of AI at OpenAI’ Townhall.

Below are 12 moments from that conversation that actually matter if you’re building: reordered, compressed, and interpreted for people who care about product, distribution, and durability.

1. AI doesn’t reduce software, it radically expands it (Jevons Paradox)

A common mistake is to think AI reduces the need for more software.
Historically, the opposite happens.

When the cost of production drops, usage explodes.

AI lowers the cost of building software. That doesn’t eliminate demand, but it fragments it.

Expect:

  • more niche tools

  • more internal software

  • more personalized systems

2. GTM didn’t get easier. Attention is still the bottleneck
